I am a NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKER from the east coast (USA).
I have been writing lyrics and music since I was 12 years old.
I have also written songs in foreign languages and know exactly what it takes to reach and connect with all my audiences.
All of us songwriters have the same DREAM:
Why should I bother to write lyrics in English?
The United States leads in the most exported songs internationally. Europe also has adapted its entertainment, such as the annual Eurovision contest of which 75% of the songs performed are in complete English if not part since audiences worldwide have reached up to 600 million.
400 million people around the world consider English to be their native language, while 700 million people learn English and speak it as a foreign language. That is over 1 BILLION people! English also makes up the largest parts of media, broadcasting, and more than 80% of all information online is submitted in English.
By comparison with many other languages, English is the most flexible, there are lots of opportunities for rhyming lyrics, nice short words that are rich, pronunciation that flows when sung, plus plenty of words ending in convenient vowel sounds that are easily singable and interchangeable.
